About Lamb Fuels

Virginia Lamb established Lamb Fuels in 1985. She opened a diesel fueling facility in Chula Vista (south San Diego) to fuel the increasing number of cargo trucks traveling across the nearby U.S./Mexico border. For nearly two decades, Virginia worked with trucking companies from both sides of the border, establishing her name and reputation as a tough-but-fair businesswoman and innovative entrepreneur. Her business savvy became apparent when she began to buy diesel from Mexico. Every day, dozens of Mexico-based trucks, with their diesel tanks brimming, would stop at her facility to have the diesel sucked out into one of her three 8,000 gallon storage tanks. In return she paid the drivers cash for their diesel – it was a win-win situation.

Virginia Lamb Diesel Sales grew steadily during the late 80′s and early 90′s, and was advantageously positioned when NAFTA was implemented and the Otay Mesa Commercial Cargo Port of Entry was fully established in 1994. However, the new NAFTA regulations halted the purchase of Mexican diesel, and the explosion of truck traffic forced her to focus almost solely on fueling her many clients. Even still, Virginia maintained a small, but well-known presence in the unheard-of field of fuel recovery by working with nearby auto salvage facilities, tank cleaning companies, and other industries to find alternative sources of motor fuel.

Sadly, Virginia died much too soon in 2003. However, her son, Greg, having grown up around the business, easily stepped in to grow the business in her memory. Today, Lamb Fuels is credited with pioneering the recovered fuel market in the US, and will always be known as The Original Fuel Recovery Specialists.

Currently, Lamb Fuels, Inc. continues it’s remarkable expansion across the country servicing all aspects of fuel recovery. We have come a long way in a short period, now servicing over 200 individual facilities for over 160 clients, and operating in nearly every US state and Canada. We process tens of thousands of gallons of clean, usable fuel each month to the benefit of our clients, the environment and our community.
